We were pleased that many people attended and had the opportunity to listen to artists Evelina Birgiolaite (Ur_fvrt), Tomas Vitvickis (Nepalūžęs), and Jolanta Daubaraitė (Akimirkų Gaudyklė). We would like to express our gratitude to the partners of this project, namely Prof. Dr. Daiva Beržinskienė-Juozainienė and Dr. Rūta Meištė from Kolpingo kolegija , and Olga Krumpane and Agnese Leikuse from Pikc Ddmv Saules skola, for their important messages and interesting topics on educational processes and why upcycling has a future.
The panel discussion on the topic „Upcycling: fashion or a necessity for modern society?” was led by Mindaugas Kiznis, Director of the National Development Institute. It provided a new perspective on how society is growing and becoming more aware of the quality of future generations.
Thank you to all who participated in the dissemination event, including our co-creators Zydrunas Sipka and Rasa Visockiene. We would also like to thank Jurgita Udrienė from Šiaulių regiono atliekų tvarkymo centras for sharing how they are working with the Daiktų kiemas site to exchange used items. This initiative allows residents to hand over items for reuse, which are then repaired and made available for others to pick up. We look forward to continuing our work on the „Gift(ed)” platform and collaborating with our partners and supporters to promote sustainable practices and innovation.
